Our privileged location, near the Mar Menor, a few meters from Mediterranean Sea and in the region of Murcia. It has allowed to “El Hijo del Rubio” to continue carrying the finest products from the sea with his special taste, typical from the Mediterranean Sea and Murcia.
Thus, sea bass, sea bream, prawns of the Mar Menor, red shrimp and other incredible products of the Mediterranean, alongside the best vegetables of the Cartagena’s field, and not forgetting the roe and smoked fish with a deep tradition in the area, are the main ingredients of the excellent cooking of “El Hijo del Rubio”.
Moreover, El Hijo del Rubio proposes you typical dishes like golden fish in salt from “Mar Menor” and paella season (with cuttlefish, mushrooms ...), where are mingled with the pure flavors of freshly caught seafood or prawns of the Mar Menor, or “Caldero” rice, undoubtedly the most well-known dish in Spain and abroad and originally from our area of the Mar Menor.In our kitchen, we are faithful to the products of the season because, only by respecting the dates set by the Mother Nature, we find the greatest nutritional value and the best taste of each food.
